Staircase from middle level to underground ("Afraid") section.
The stairs reflect the theme "Afraid" as they are sharp edged, dark
spiral stairs that force the walker to walk slowly and carefully.

The entrance to the underground studio is formed by a
cave-like opening to further add to the theme of "Afraid." The transitional space between
the staircase and the exhibition plane is uneven  creating a feeling of uneasiness to passengers entering/leaving the underground.

These spiral stairs combine the two levels of the above ground "Celebrate" Studio. The spiral structure was used to create a direct contrast between below ground and above ground themes. The ideal material envisaged would be wood/timber as it would provide strength and would relate to the artist - Malangi.
The transition between the staircase and studio is immediate
allowing the passenger to feel welcome and comfortable.
